The Hood River Forest Collaborative (aka “Stew Crew”) is a diverse group of local and regional stakeholders focused on the management of the Hood River Ranger District of the Mt. Hood National Forest. We meet regularly, take field trips, and strive for meaningful dialogue and consensus-based agreements. The Stew Crew brings together local residents from the Hood River Valley, watershed organizations, government agencies, tribes, environmental organizations, the forest industry, recreation stakeholders, and more.
The Stew Crew has been active since 2011, and has provided input to date on the Red Hill (November 2011), Lava (August 2013), and Polallie-Cooper (July 2014) planning areas. We are currently working on the Waucoma Huckleberry Enhancement Project and Pocket Creek Restoration Project. Visit the USDA Forest Service website for the most up to date information about these projects.
We meet on the second Thursday of each month from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the Hood River Ranger Station on Highway 35. Please join us for a meeting!
Administrative support is provided by the Hood River Soil and Water Conservation District, and facilitation is provided by Andrew Spaeth. Andrew can be contacted at hrstewcrew@gmail.com.
